About the Director

Linda Green graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, a public residential high school for academically gifted students. She received her B.S. and M.S. in mathematics from the University of Chicago in 1990 and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Princeton University in 1996. Linda is currently an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Dominican University of California. Her favorite branch of mathematics is topology. She also works on mathematical models of disease.

About the Elementary Circle Instructor

Laura Givental graduated from a math and physics high school and obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in applied mathematics at the Moscow school "Kerosinka". She has designed and led a very successful program for elementary students in the Berkeley Math Circle since Fall 2009, and she also leads an elementary circle at the Stanford Math Circle. In addition to her work in mathematics education, Laura works a software engineer and consultant.
